It's bound to be tough growing up with your name in lights, and for 18-year-old Miley Cyrus, this past year especially has been quite the television drama.

We all know the story: Dad stirs up country music with 'Achy Breaky Heart,' daughter stars on wildly-successful kids' television show 'Hannah Montana,' and all is well. Somewhere along the line, though, Miley's fame became a slippery slope (i.e. the salvia smoking video incident), and her parents' happy marriage found its way on a quick road to divorce.

But the young star is on a new path now, and hopes to put past issues behind her. "My family is good," Miley spills to the Associated Press. "They are stoked for tour. As long as I'm happy, they are happy."

Billy Ray Cyrus recently called off his pending divorce from Miley's mom, Tish -- just in time for the former Disney star to hit the road on her 2011 Gypsy Heart tour. "I think it's good, especially when you go on the road," she says. "You have to make sure everyone is happy before you start traveling."

But with all of the negative press and tabloid attacks in recent months, the teen isn't quite ready to dive back into the American entertainment scene just yet. "I just think right now America has gotten to a place where I don't know if they want me to tour or not," she admits. Though, thankfully, she did finally cave and re-joined Twitter.

"Right now, I just want to go to the places where I am getting the most love, and Australia and South America have done that for me." She adds, "I don't want to go anywhere where I don't feel completely comfortable with it."

Miley Cyrus' Gypsy Heart tour kicks off April 29 in Quito, Ecuador.
