One Direction Accept Huge Award, Perform ‘Steal My Girl’ at the 2014 BBC Music Awards [VIDEOS]

If you can think of a group that exists on this planet who is more perfectly suited than One Direction for being the main draw of the very first BBC Music Awards, then you are wrong. Between Harry’s attempts at rock star attire -- ala the blouse cut low enough to rival JLo’s iconic Versace dress from the 2000 Grammys (which you can see in the video below), Zayn’s unmatchable falsetto and the millions of fans that refuse to stop tweeting about them -- there simply aren't many bands more talked about or more loved right now. So when it was announced that one of our favorite quintets would be performing, accepting an award and walking the red carpet at the BBC Music Awards? Cue 'Heart Attack.'

The boys looked super grown-up in their black-and-white color scheme -- long gone are the days of Louis’ suspenders and red pants, Harry’s preppy blazers, Zayn’s varsity jackets. But those were the old days, before the band had four albums debut at number one in America -- a feat matched by literally no one else. Not the Beatles, not the Spice Girls. For this honor, One Direction received the BBC's Billboard Award, and the crowd screamed so loud Louis admitted he couldn't hear what co-host Fearne Cotton had just said to him. It was a great moment, considering she was addressing their fans' dedication, aka the reason they won the award to begin with. But things don't end there -- right before accepting the award, One Direction performed their hit single 'Steal My Girl,' giving us plenty of gifable moments, swoon-worthy vocals and the perfect demonstration of why they continue to dominate the charts. You can check out the performance here:

It was a particularly great night for Zayn fans, as his soon-to-be iconic 'Cry-Baby'-slash-Alex-Turner slicked back hair was perfectly coiffed, that single strand delicately framing his Greek-god-level good looks. Zayn at an awards shows is a sight for sore eyes, if ever there were one. Don't believe us? Fair enough. We've compiled some proof for you non-believers below:

In case you couldn't tell, we're obsessed with this look. To his credit, Zayn looks good every which way, but this hair is definitely our favorite. Talk about James Dean daydream.
