Harry Styles of One Direction Recording Solo Material

One Direction aren't splitting any time soon -- the boys are under three-year contracts to stay together -- but that doesn't mean they're not into doing their own things. Harry Styles recently hit the studio solo!

Styles has reportedly co-written a number of tracks, and he hit the Paramount recording studio in Hollywood to throw some vocals around and see what stuck. A source told The Sunday Mirror (via The Daily Mail), "He’s bounced some ideas off his friend Ed Sheeran and has already laid down some vocals."

But don't worry about 1D becoming 1D minus one anytime soon. The source added, "Harry’s priority is obviously still with 1D. But when he decides the time to go solo has arrived, he’s likely to have a project raring to go."

If Hazza's writing with Sheeran, who's currently on tour with Styles' ex Taylor Swift, it should make for some pretty interesting acoustic -- and perhaps revealing -- tunes.

And everyone assumed Zayn Malik would be the first to do a solo record!
