Chris Brown’s Father Worries About His Partying + Relationship With Rihanna
Lots of people don't think Rihanna should have ever reunited with Chris Brown, considering their violent, volatile history and penchant for partying. One of those people is Brown's own dad.
Brown's father, Clinton, told The New York Daily News, “I personally really didn’t want him and Rihanna back together." Why not? He basically thinks they're way too similar -- and way too immature -- for a healthy relationship.
“You have to have a balance in a relationship," Clinton said. "You have to have someone who is spontaneous and whimsical but you also have to have someone who is grounded and logical.”
Clinton added that he thinks maybe the violent nature of their relationship wasn't only at the hands of Breezy. “One has to assume because they are back together that it wasn't one-sided,” he said. “You just have to imagine it was a circumstance in which they both had a disagreement," he said carefully.
Still, he likes RiRi, describing her as "very respectful and polite," and can understand why the duo are drawn to one another. “She’s beautiful, she’s exotic, she’s successful,” Clinton said of the Bajan beauty. “Sometimes you just need that person who will listen to you without judging, who knows what it feels like. If he talks to someone who’s not in the business they may not understand.”
“(Rihanna) would make a good mom," he added. "I think she would probably have to change some of her antics — the party attitude would probably have to change. I don’t think they would just whimsically and spontaneously have a child with them being in this mode. That’s why I don’t see it happening — but anything’s possible, man.”
Brown's pops was also a fan of his ex, Karrueche Tran. “I liked her a lot," he said of the aspiring model. "They seemed to get on terrifically. Whenever she was around me, the quiet, meek, accommodating, respectful image is what she portrayed.”
Clinton also worries about Breezy and RiRi's partying, though he doesn't specify which, if any, substances concern him the most. “I hate to use examples, but Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse -- I mean I could go on and on," he lamented. “Is that a given -- that you can’t have fortune and fame without (death) being the end result?”
Yikes! Here's hoping both stars get their butts in gear and stay healthy and on track.
