If you're a fan of Sam Smith's, or just a member of the human race with actual feelings, then you've probably had your heart broken before. And if you've had your heart broken at some point within the last year, you've probably cried while listening to 'In The Lonely Hour' in public at some point. So, when Sam left the 2015 Grammy Awards a big winner, you were probably also beaming with pride for him, even though he was born in 1992 and has so much left to learn about life and love.

Our favorite part? Not only were his acceptance speeches endearing, genuine and -- above all else -- brief, but he managed to rise above and thank the man who inspired his album. This sounds like your everyday, run-of-the-mill acceptance speech, right? Considering the fact that the guy in question left Sam's heart a mangled, rotting organ kept barely intact by the odd piece of sinew, it wasn't exactly a victory in love. But it was a victory in loss. As Sam accepted his award for Record of the Year he said, "I want to thank the man who this record is about. Thank you so much for breaking my heart because you got me four Grammys!"

Sam, you're an inspiration to us all. Because there's nothing that mends a broken heart faster than winning four Grammys.
