Shannen Doherty Shares Photos of Growing Hair Amid Cancer Remission

Shannen Doherty's sharing photos of her healing process just two months after announcing she's in remission from cancer, and fans have been especially moved by pics of her steadily sprouting hair.

Doherty, who first announced in August 2015 that she'd been diagnosed with breast cancer, uploaded an Instagram shot yesterday (June 21) in which she and husband Kurt Iswarienko enjoyed beach views in Tulum, Mexico. And, as Doherty pointed out, their choice hairstyles were mirror images.

"I think my husband and I are morphing into each other...#twins#curlyhairdontcare," she wrote, and fans immediately began to share their support and adoration.

"From one survivor to another... you look fantastic," one wrote, while another noted "You look beautiful. Mine also came in black and curly...Keep fighting and living."

Doherty announced in April that she was officially in remission, but noted she was wary of treating the prognosis like a complete victory — in many cases, cancer returns, she pointed out.

"Moments. They happen. Today was and is a moment," she wrote with an Instagram image. "So with a heart that is certainly lighter, I wait. In the meantime, decisions. Reconstruction which is several surgeries. Decision on taking a pill for the next five years that comes with its own set of problems and side effects. I am blessed, I know that. But for now.... remission. I'm going to just breathe."
