It's been nearly six years since Vampire Weekend released their third album, Modern Vampires of the City, and next week fans will finally be able to hear new music from the indie rockers.

On Thursday (January 17), frontman Ezra Koenig took to Instagram to give fans an in-depth update about the forthcoming record. Aside from revealing the album's initials (FOTB) and length (18 songs clocking in at 59 minutes), he also divulged that there will be “three 2-song drops every month until the record is out,” beginning next week.

Naturally, fans of the band couldn't even begin to handle the news and unleashed their untethered excitement on Twitter.

Many simply rejoiced in the news, while others made sure to point out the ridiculous amount of time that's passed since we last heard new VW music. One fan even pointed out that she was 16 years old when they released MVOTC. There were also, of course, memes and gifs abound. Check out our favorite reactions below.
