Best Pop Collaboration of 2016: PopCrush Fan Choice Awards
It’s that time of year again: the time for you, the PopCrush readers, to determine the very best that 2016 had to offer — from music, to movies, to television, and everything in between.
Some of the biggest hits of 2016 were team-ups between titans of pop — and, in the case of EDM-bro duo The Chainsmokers, two collabs with emerging stars Halsey and Daya lifted them into the mainstream spotlight with awards show performances, nominations and monster chart success.
Drake joined Rihanna once again on Anti's "Work," and she returned the favor on his Views track "Too Good." RiRi also sparkled on the (Taylor Swift-written) Calvin Harris hit "This Is What You Came For," and speaking of work, Ty Dolla Sign helped Fifth Harmony deliver the summertime staple "Work From Home." And of course, Justin Bieber continued his tropical-tinged streak of hits with songs alongside Major Lazer and DJ Snake.
It's enough to make you think that two — or three, or even six — is often better than one. But which was pop collaboration was your favorite of the year?
Check out the full list of nominees below, and cast your vote for Best Pop Collaboration of 2016. If you don’t see your favorite song mentioned, let us know below! We’ll be revealing the results right here on Friday, December 16.
