Is A Wale and BTS Collaboration in the Works?
Is a major musical moment coming between two international rap sensations? Quite possibly, yes.
It all started when a fan tweeted about BTS member Nam-joon — AKA Rap Monster — and his cover of Wale's Ambition track "Illest Bitch," tagging Wale in the tweet.
"When my bias Namjoon from @BTS_twt did a freestyle over one of my favorite rappers @Wale's song omg still amazing. Wale would be proud," they wrote along with a video of the cover. And indeed, they were right.
"Collab???!" the "LoveHate Thing" rapper wrote, retweeting the video. And that's not all: Wale followed BTS on Twitter immediately after. Consider Wale and Rap Monster mutual fans.
The idea of a team-up between Wale and Rap Monster is a tantalizing prospect — and perhaps the added push needed to convince BTS' record label CEO, who recently shot down the idea of U.S. crossover, to reconsider his international plans for the group.
Wale released his latest studio album, The Album About Nothing, last year.
