Zayn Malik Posts Selfie of New Haircut [PHOTO]

New year, new haircut!

Just days after celebrating his 22nd birthday on Jan. 12,  One Direction's Zayn Malik surprised Directioners with a selfie of a new haircut.

In the up close photo posted on Jan. 17, Malik appears to have opted to buzz his sides short while keeping his signature slick, long hair on the top. The singer also opted to keep his facial hair, giving him a clean and more mature look.

Fans visibly flipped out on Twitter and tweeted their reactions with the hashtag '#ZaynYourSelfieKilledUs.' The hashtag trended worldwide on the social network which has us wondering if One Direction is running Twitter at this point?
