The One Direction half of the Internet (of which we are a part) nearly broke down in shambles yesterday (March 30) when it appeared that one of Zayn Malik's new solo songs was posted online. But it looks like that track, titled "I Won't Mind," is reportedly an old One Direction demo from the group's Four writing sessions.

According to a source at the Daily Mail, the material has nothing to do with any upcoming solo material from the former One Direction singer. The source reportedly said, "It's important fans know this isn't a solo Zayn song or even representative of material he might record in the future. If you listen to the track it is clearly a song written with One Direction in mind for their last album. It's not new, nor is it a Zayn Malik solo track."

A rep for Naughty Boy -- the producer who posted the track on Soundcloud after becoming embroiled in a bitter Twitter feud with One Direction member Louis Tomlinson -- allegedly confirmed this, saying, "Naughty Boy and Zayn wrote and demoed it as a contender for 1D's album last year." The rep then goes on to say that Zayn is not about to drop a solo album any time soon, but is hanging out at the studio and taking it easy.

They said, "They aren't furiously working on his solo material or anything, there aren't plans for anything and this wasn't recorded in the last few days. They are very good friends and Zayn is taking time out including visiting Naughty Boy at his studio and hanging out."

We would like to take this time to remind everyone that Zayn quit One Direction less than a week ago. With all of this drama being dragged into the Twittersphere, it feels like it's been 37 years already. And Zayn, if you want to return to One Direction and claim this was all an elaborate April Fools joke, we would welcome you back with open arms.
