Ariana Grande Makes Surprise Appearance at Coachella During Kygo’s Set
Fans in attendance for Kygo's set at Coachella on Friday night (April 20) were in for a treat when Ariana Grande made a surprise appearance during the producer and DJ's performance.
Sporting her signature ponytail, a purple tank top and matching skirt, Grande performed her brand new single, "No Tears Left to Cry." The singer's live performance of the song came just a few hours after the track was released. Grande also performed a rendition of Marvin Gaye's classic, "Sexual Healing."
Kygo also dedicated his set to the late Avicii, who passed away at the age of 28 on Friday. According to Kygo, the Swedish DJ was his biggest musical inspiration. "He was the reason I started making electronic music so I don't think I would've been on this stage tonight if it wasn't for him. I know he's inspired millions of other producers out there," he said.
On Friday, Grande also shared a video for her latest single, which is her first new song since the terrorist attack in Manchester, England during her concert. Directed by Dave Meyers, the dizzying video features the imagery of a worker bee, which is the symbol of Manchester.
In related news, the second weekend of Coachella continues tonight (April 21) with performances from HAIM, Post Malone, BORNS, Blackbear, Mo, Snakehips, Jorja Smith and more. Beyonce will also make her second Coachella appearance when she headlines the festival later tonight.
