Britney Spears' doctor has died amid her conservatorship drama with dad Jamie Spears.

TMZ reports Dr. Timothy Benson, who was responsible for the "Toxic" singer's medical treatment, had been under evaluation for the past three months by a court reviewer. A judge in her case was set to receive a report in the next two weeks that would determine whether she was receiving the appropriate care from him.

According to sources, many questioned whether Britney was receiving the correct medications for her mental health condition, while others were skeptical of Benson's qualifications as her psychiatrist.

Right now, no official cause of death has been revealed, but sources told the outlet the 48-year-old suffered an aneurysm on Monday, August 24, in Santa Monica, California.

His death comes one week after Britney's father asked to temporarily step down as her conservator "due to personal health reasons" and after allegedly physically abusing her 13-year-old son, Sean Federline.

Britney’s conservatorship is currently under review after she appeared in court in May. She reportedly demanded more freedom and accused her father of forcing her to enter a mental health facility. Jamie has held power over the pop star's conservatorship for 11 years, which was established after she suffered a public breakdown in 2007. The agreement, however, doesn’t give him the right to put her into rehab without her consent.
