Demi Lovato Looks Cool for the Summer With New Blonde Hair (PHOTO)

Demi Lovato's new look is lighter (and cooler) for the summer!

The pop star dyed her signature dark hair a lighter hue this past weekend, signifying a change from the darker times now behind her. (The singer recently revealed a relapse after years of sobriety.)

After years spent as a sultry brunette, Lovato is seeing whether or not blondes really do have more fun with a lighter shade on her locks, which she debuted in an Instagram Story earlier this week.

Entertainment Tonight reports that the dye job was done by celebrity hair stylist Amber Maynard at Nine Zero One Salon in West Hollywood, and that the pop star spent up to eight hours at the salon on Saturday and four hours on Sunday to get the color just right.

But this isn't the first time the singer has experiment with her 'do, and it's not the first time she's been blonde.

In 2012, the singer sported a light blonde and pink dip-dyed look. She's also had red, blue and jet black hair, and has worn her locks ultra long and super short over the years, unafraid to try out different styles to suit her mood and album aesthetics.
