Demi Lovato knows "it gets better" -- and she helped make it so for one family.

The 'Skyscraper' singer and the Kardashian sisters -- Kim, Kourtney and Khloe -- hosted an anti-bullying rally in honor of Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover.Walker-Hoover, 11, committed suicide in 2009 in his family home after being bullied and tormented by his peers.

Starpulse reports that the Kardashians hosted the rally outside of the El Capitan theater in Hollywood. Lovato performed and urged the crowd to put an end to bullying -- something she may have experienced on both sides.

The performance was part of an 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' special dedicated to the Walker family, who will receive an all-expense paid trip to Hollywood as well as a brand new home following the devastation of Walker-Hoover's death. Kourtney Kardashian tweeted about how impressed she was with the Walker family's resilience. "Bullying is NOT ok & has to stop now!" she wrote. "The Walker family touched my heart with their positivity after the tragedy of their son's suicide."

It's great that Lovato (who battled her own demons in the public eye) and the ubiquitous Kardashian clan are giving back and drawing awareness for a cause that effects so many young people. It also speaks volumes of their friendship -- Lovato has said that Kim Kardashian helped her through her own issues, so it's wonderful that they're paying it forward.
