Amid the Scooter Braun and Taylor Swift controversy on Sunday (June 30), Demi Lovato spoke out about her experience with her new manager, Braun, who she signed with earlier this year, defending him after another artist alleged he was "homophobic."

Lovato commented on a since-deleted Instagram post made by artist and YouTube personality Todrick Hall, who claimed Braun was "evil" and "homophobic." (Hall worked with Braun for six years.)

"Hey boo, [I don't know] you or anything and this isn’t hate, but making claims that someone is homophobic is really serious," Lovato commented on Hall's post. "Please don’t spread information that isn’t true because I can guarantee you Scooter isn’t. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, he wouldn’t have signed me if he was. No hate just trying to clear that up."

Along with the Instagram post, Hall shared a series of tweets where he claimed that Braun previously threatened him.

A partner at SB Projects, Allison Scarinzi, replied to Hall's accusations, claiming that SB Projects dropped him after Hall was allegedly caught "stealing" from fans.

"@todrick this is a disgusting and defamatory statement. We dropped you after finding out you were stealing from your fans on your Christmas tour. Scooter has been nothing but supportive of all disenfranchised groups. He is against dishonesty. Not those living in their truth," she wrote.

After Scarinzi's comment, Hall shared a screenshot of an email where he reportedly asked to leave the company.

Lovato updated her Instagram story and wrote: "Y'all can come after me all you want but I'm always gonna stay loyal to my team," in defense of her supportive words toward Braun.
