Dev Patel and Freida Pinto Split

Sad news to report about one of our favorite couples, Freida Pinto and Dev Patel: After nearly six years together, the couple has decided to call it quits. US Weekly is reporting on the breakup, citing a source that says: “Dev and Freida have broken up. They have been done for a while.”

The pair met while filming the immensely popular movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ in 2008, with Dev quoted as saying he considered the two of them to be "soul mates” — long before they revealed they were dating.

Freida was initially engaged to her former publicist, Rohan Antao, until they called things off in January 2009. Dev and Freida began dating shortly after.

A source at US Weekly goes on to say: “Freida is single and happy. Friends are setting her up.” Freida recently celebrated her 30th birthday alongside billionaire Siddharth Mallya, and apparently Dev was not in attendance.

While there’s no word as to why the couple split, we wish the two of them the best.
