Let Francesco Yates Warm You With ‘Honey I’m Home': PopCrush Premiere
Above, PopCrush proudly premieres an acoustic version of Yates' "Honey, I'm Home," a beautifully subdued track that features conversely soaring vocals. The song's one of six from the Canadian singer's soul-pop EP, which was released in September and features Williams as a producer, and showcases Yates talent for bounding from full voice to falsetto at the drop of a hat.
Sound a bit familiar? There's a good chance you heard Yates' voice featured on Robin Schulz's "Sugar," a reinterpretation of Baby Bash's 2003 "Suga Suga," this summer. "Sugar" hit the No. 1 spot on iTunes dance charts in 11 countries.
And Yates' audience keeps growing. He's opened for Jess Glynne, and on Sunday night (November 24), performed "Sugar" and "Nobody Like You" on the American Music Awards' red carpet between sets by Alessia Cara and Shawn Mendes. True to form, his showing was emotional but buoyant, and Yates said in a statement that he hopes to always deliver a sense of lightness.
“For me, music should be about something that’s positive,” he said. “It’s a vibe. You need to feel good when you hear it and when you play it. I want people to feel good when they listen to every one of my songs.”
