One of the most beautiful, terrible things about the Internet is its inability to forget.

Halsey has captured the hearts and minds of the Twitter generation (and many music critics) with her Badlands album. But before she sang about growing up on Biggie and Nirvana, Ashley Frangipane was a One Direction stan with a Tumblr account and a soft spot for Harry Styles. And in a couple of songs that made the rounds in late 2012/early 2013, she harnessed her budding songwriting skills to make a parody song voicing her devastation over Harry’s highly-publicized relationship with Taylor Swift, fittingly dubbed "The Haylor Song."

Set to the tune of Taylor’s “I Knew You Were Trouble,” the singer laments, "Once upon a time / Once albums were debuted / Haylor was conceived / We panicked 'cause we knew / She’d hurt him, she’d hurt him, she’d hurt him, him, him, him, him."

The words also touch on Taylor's dating life, saying she "always got around": "At first we didn’t care, we figured she’d back off / She’d always got around / We thought she’d take a walk / And desert him, desert him, desert him, him, him, him, him, him."

The quick-witted track picked up steam and made its way around the One Direction side of the Internet, to the delight of Haylor naysayers everywhere. The largely-positive response spawned another song from Halsey, this time about Haylor again an unidentified green-eyed boy and his unknown blonde girlfriend, who -- much like the Taylor Swift classic "You Belong With Me" -- Halsey feels she's way better suited for: "I get it, she’s tall and she’s pretty and blonde / And she can write one hell of a breakup song but / She’ll never love you like I could."

Again, these songs surfaced back in 2012 — pre "Halsey," when Ashley was an unknown 17-year-old (and one with a knack for satirical lyrics, at that). We've all done things on the Internet that we might not repeat today! Some people turn their self-inserted fanfic into songs that go viral, maybe others get banned from Harry Potter forums for plagiarizing fan art, whatever. She's staying true to her 1D fan roots, though.

Have you ever wanted to erase your sordid Internet past? Did you feel personally victimized when Haylor went public, too? And most importantly, do you wish Halsey would release studio versions of these rarities on iTunes?

See the full lyrics to Halsey's song about Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, made back when she was Ashley Frangipane, below:

Once upon a time, when albums were debuted
Haylor was conceived
We panicked cause we knew
She'd hurt him
She'd hurt him
She'd hurt him
Him, him, him, him

At first we didn't care
We figured she'd back off
She'd always got around
We thought she'd take a walk
And desert him
Desert him
Desert him
Him, him, him, him

But she's still here, in the city
And we realized that we can agree
That we knew she was trouble when she snagged Styles
How could we allow Taylor to get him with her fake smiles
It seems he's her's now

We knew she was trouble when she got Styles
So shame on us now
This fandom's getting kind of hostile
She's gonna put him in her 'ex boy pile'

Oh, oh, oh
Trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, oh, oh
Trouble, trouble, trouble

Now Harry's got it bad
They're walking in Times square
The fans can see it all
He doesn't even care
He's blinded
He's blinded
He's blinded-ed-ed-ed-ed

We heard that 'They're so in love'
From whispers down the street but all she really wants is a track for her CD
I hope he sees
I hope he sees
I hope he see-e-e-e-es

She's so anal
A control freak
When he'll realizes
He'll dump her next week
Yeah

Cause we knew she was trouble when she snagged Styles
How could we allow Taylor to get him with her fake smiles
It seems he's her's now
We knew she was trouble when she got Styles
This fandom's getting kind of hostile
She's gonna put him in her 'ex boy pile'

Oh, oh, oh
Trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, oh, oh
Trouble, trouble, trouble

And the saddest fear starts creeping in
That we'd be pissed off
If he loved anyone or anything
Yeah

And now we're getting angry cause she snagged Styles
My dashboard hates her
Let's just say this shit better be worthwhile
Cause if he dates her
She's gonna put Harry through some tough trials
And write an album with his name on file
