Update, 8/27: Either Nicki Minaj is live-birthing a Moonman onstage, or she's been added to the roster of Sunday's performers. For a full rundown of what to expect from the 2015 Video Music Awards, check out our primer.

MTV is slowly unveiling its lineup for the 2015 Video Music Awards, ramping up our collective enthusiasm for the main event on August 30. We've already learned that we'll see Nick Jonas' "Levels" make its live debut before the festivities kick off, and Taylor Swift will premiere her "Wildest Dreams" video. The network announced one of its most anticipated honors today (August 25), revealing that this year's Video Vanguard Award recipient is...Kanye West.

In addition to his rich and complicated history with the VMAs, Kanye's made over a decade of robust contributions to music and the music video genre since his "Through The Wire" video made its debut in 2003. Rumors are already buzzing that wife Kim Kardashian and their daughter North will present Kanye with the award, much like Jay Z and Blue Ivy honored Beyonce at last year's awards show. As long as the presenter's not Kanye's former VMAs nemesis Taylor Swift — that would be a little on the nose.

VMA nominees Walk The Moon will launch the pre-show with their hit "Shut Up And Dance," and The Weeknd will perform "Can't Feel My Face" from his Beauty Behind the Madness album, which is set to drop this Friday.

Other acts slated to perform at the upcoming awards show include Tori Kelly, Demi Lovato, Pharrell, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Twenty One Pilots with A$AP Rocky. According to a recent tweet from the network, more artists will be added to the lineup tomorrow. You can check the video announcement below.

And, after days of buildup, MTV officially added Justin Bieber to its already robust lineup of performers, as well. We assume he'll play his upcoming single "What Do You Mean?" which will premiere on August 28, just two days before the VMAs are set to take place. You can check out MTV's tweet below.

Stay tuned for more VMA updates, and meet us back here this Sunday, August 30 at 9pm eastern for full coverage of the show!
