They're both chart-topping, soulful Southern singers, American Idol winners, mid-30s mamas and friends, it seems — so why haven't Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood collaborated yet?

Fans of both women expressed their collective eagerness for a long overdue Kelly x Carrie collab on Wednesday (June 6), right after Clarkson posted to social media thanking the country diva for sending her a care package from Underwood's lifestyle and fashion brand, CALIA.

"Thank you @carrieunderwood," Clarkson captioned a video that showed her thanking Underwood for the swag. "This apparel cake idea was adorable! I’m just now receiving it because it’s been at Starstruck! Love all your gear girl!"

But this isn't the first time Clarkson has expressed her admiration of the "Before He Cheats" singer: In 2011, she covered Underwood's "I Know You Won't" on VH1.

In 2018, Underwood returned the love, tweeting that she voted for Clarkson during the "Stronger" belter's run on Season 1 of American Idol.

After Clarkson gushed about Underwood's brand, fans took to Twitter to express their desperation for a team-up. "Still waiting for the duet! It would be AMAZING," one fan tweeted, while another quipped, "Ok can you guys just do a song together now?"
