Pete Davidson Is Focusing on Mental Health and Well-Being After Posting Alarming Message on Instagram
A day after TMZ reported that Pete Davidson was still in a dark place and pushing those close to him away after posting a troubling message on Instagram over the weekend, the outlet is now saying he's hunkering down and focusing on his mental health and well-being.
Contrary to Wednesday's (December 19) reports, sources close to the comedian have said he's been overwhelmed by all the love his friends and fans have shown throughout the week, and it's lifted his spirits. He plans to return to Saturday Night Live when it comes back from holiday hiatus in January.
Among those rallying behind the 25-year-old is his boss, Lorne Michaels. The SNL producer made the decision to cut Davidson's sketches during the show's Christmas episode on Saturday (December 15) and pledged to help the cast member in any way he can.
The funnyman's ex fiance Ariana Grande also rushed to NBC studios, where SNL tapes, to comfort him; however, reports have stated he explicitly told security to meet her in the lobby and refuse to let her up. Sources are now saying her tweet about people weaponizing mental health is what set him off, and he was too hurt to see her.
