There has been a lot of buzz around the fact that pop goddess Britney Spears is penning tracks for Selena Gomez's upcoming album. However, Gomez's producer, 'Let It Rock' singer Kevin Rudolf, is now saying these rumors are false.

Rudolf, who also worked with Lil Wayne for 'Tha Carter IV,' spoke to MTV News about the rumors. "I honestly don't know anything about it," he says. "I never said that ... I don't know. I didn't hear anything about it. I'm doing some stuff for it [Gomez's album], but it has nothing to do with Britney."

After squashing the gossip, Rudolf went on to discuss his work on Gomez's forthcoming album with her band the Scene. "As far as the new stuff goes, it's about trying to write a great song and hope it's something she connects with, really. It's not that deep. It's really hard to guess where people are in their lives, and I don't try to do that," Rudolf explains. "If I'm writing for someone, I get a sense of what they're about and then I do what I would do. I think it's gonna honestly be more straight, not straight dance, but straight pop; hopefully really great songs."

Even though Gomez and Spears are apparently not collaborating on any tracks, Gomez remains a huge Britney fan. The 'Who Says' singer is still planning on performing a tribute to Ms. Spears while out on her summer tour, which kicks off on May 7 in Dixon, Calif.
