Meghan Trainor

Meghan Trainor seemingly exploded out of nowhere in 2014 with the retro-sounding body-positive anthem ‘All About That Bass,’ but the Massachusetts native has been honing her chops since childhood. Born in 1993, Trainor began singing at the age of 6 and soon began writing songs as well. She released her first album when she was only 15, following that up with a pair of acoustic albums in 2011. Her behind-the-scenes work included songwriting for stars including Rascal Flatts and Hunter Hayes, but it was a performance of ‘All About That Bass’ for Epic Records chief L.A. Reid that won her a recording contract and a promising solo career. The bubblegum-pop track topped the charts in 58 countries and earned Trainor a pair of Grammy nominations (Record of the Year, Song of the Year).
