Taylor Swift Has Over 50 Million Instagram Followers, But She Might Go Away For A While

Does Taylor Swift ever get tired of hitting new milestones, breaking records and achieving things? Will she ever stop?

While she’d already surpassed Kim Kardashian and Beyonce as the most followed person on Instagram last month, as of yesterday she hit a new high: Her posts now reach over 50 million people.

Taylor posted a screenshot of her follower count in celebration, captioning it with the ever insightful: "50 million followers!! Thanks so much guys. I'm pretty sure this is just because I have cute cats though."

But bad news for those of you who were the last to jump on the TSwift bandwagon and only just followed her on Instagram -- you might not see as much of her as you were hoping to in the months to come. During a recent interview with NME, Taylor showed some real self-awareness when she noted that she's probably a little oversaturated in the media right now.

Following the end of her 1989 World Tour (which has featured guest cameos from every celebrity to ever grace Planet Earth within the past decade), Taylor plans on taking some much needed time out of the spotlight. She said (via PEOPLE), "I think I should take some time off. People might need a break from me. I'm going to hang out with friends. Write new music. Maybe not write new music. I don't know."
