Taylor Swift Lands on GQ Cover For The First Time
Pop phenom Taylor Swift collects magazine covers as if they're trading cards, but it wasn't until today (October 8) that she made a very special addition to her deck: her very first front-and-center feature for GQ as part of its November 2015 issue.
In a release that will include stories on Amber Rose, Jaden Smith and a to-be-named war criminal (okay!), T-Swift smolders in a scaled-down, no-frills look. Styling centers on a neutral dress, obscured two-piece bikini and hair that says "who needs an up-to-code shower when you can just take a dip in the ocean, instead?"
"Thanks @GQMagazine for my first cover :)" the singer tweeted with the image after the announcement was made.
The magazine's website says the interview—conducted by Chuck Klosterman—will include musings on Kanye West, dodging paparazzi and taking phone calls from fellow Hollywood elite. Most importantly, it'll dive into Swift's enduring entertainment impact.
"If you don’t take Swift seriously, you don’t take contemporary music seriously," Klosterman wrote in a small preview. "There’s simply no antecedent for this kind of career: a cross-genre, youth-oriented, critically acclaimed colossus based entirely on the intuitive songwriting merits of a single female artist. It’s as if mid-period Garth Brooks was also early Liz Phair, minus the hat and the swearing. As a phenomenon, it’s absolutely new."
