Taylor Swift attended the BMI Pop Awards last night (May 10), where she accepted the very first Taylor Swift Award, and also revealed what she’s been up to during a much-deserved break from her hectic touring schedule -- it involves a healthy dose of reality TV.

After praising Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, the other winners of BMI’s Icon Award, Swift shifted the focus to her own TV viewing habits, admitting, “I recently have had a lot of time off. I've been watching a lot of reality TV. Barry and Cynthia’s daughter Jenn is the couples therapist on a show called Couples Therapy that I watch a lot and I was really really excited to meet her.”

BMI honored the singer's "incomparable creative and artistic talent and influence on music lovers throughout the world" with their newly minted Taylor Swift Award. The eponymous award is only the second one ever created by BMI, the first of which was given to Michael Jackson back in 1990. In other words: It's kind of a big deal.

This was not lost on Swift, who accepted the award with humor when she took the stage, saying, "I'm really super relieved that BMI decided to give me the Taylor Swift Award because if they would have chosen someone else to give the Taylor Swift Award to I'd be kinda bummed about it."

Swift also accepted awards for her 1989 singles “Style,” “Wildest Dreams,” “Bad Blood” and “Black Space” as well as Songwriter of the Year Award.

While all this was happening, an "emotionally disturbed" man was reportedly detained outside the singer's New York City home, after showing up uninvited and repeatedly ringing Swift's doorbell. The man was later taken to Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospital for evaluation, according to Page Six, marking just one of several times police have responded to an intruder outside one of Swift's residences within the past few months.
