Taylor Swift redefined what it means to be "shook" at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 27, when she premiered her instantly iconic and completely unexpected music video for "Look What You Made Me Do." And boy, is it something else!

An epic of cinematic, chic and controversial proportions, the pop star's video begins with a zombiefied Swift clawing her way out of the dirt in a cemetery (the old Taylor Swift is dead, after all). In the clip, Tay gets herself into a world of shady shennanigans—she poses like a femme fatale medusa amid tea-serving snakes, she swings in a birdcage and even gets into a rather luxurious car crash, all the while clutching her Grammy awards.

But that's hardly all.

She also references a ton of her media controversies over the years, from Tom Hiddleston's "I Heart TS" t-shirt to addressing an army of fembots while the word "Squad" flashes in the background. At one point, she even stands atop a mound of Old Taylors from previous music videos, each of them desperately climbing towards her.

And when all is said and done, it's not even over. (She's not finished with you yet!)

After the music stops, a collection of Taylors stand in a private jet hangar, each of them taking digs at the other.

"Stop making that surprised face, it's so annoying!" one shouts, as another hits back, "Oh, stop acting like you're all nice. You are so fake."

"Oh, there she goes, playing the victim again," one Taylor complains, while another records a video on her cell phone and says, "Getting receipts, gonna edit this later." (What's good, Kim?)

As Taylor—well, one of them—quips: "I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative."
