Tyler Oakley
If you're even just a casual fan of YouTube content creators, our nominees below may be no surprise to you. Tyler Oakley is one of the most visible stars in the genre; he's now an author, a cast member on the upcoming season of The Amazing Race and star of upcoming documentary Snervous, so it's been a huge year for Tyler, and 2016 may be even bigger.
Grace Helbig 
Grace Helbig is another YouTube vet who has parlayed her online fame into more traditional mediums, releasing a self-help book, Grace's Guide: The Art of Pretending to Be a Grown-up, and landing her own variety show on E! in early 2015.
Gigi Gorgeous
Gigi Gorgeous amassed a following with with makeup tutorials and haul videos.The transgender social star won Best Beauty Series at the 2015 Streamy Awards, and her videos make even an emergency trip to the vet for a puppy birth seem fabulous.
Miranda Sings

A parody character developed by actress Colleen Ballinger, Miranda delivers painfully bad tutorials for singing and dancing, and considers herself the most beautiful of all the YouTubers. Colleen now regularly tours as Miranda in sold-out venues across the world.

Troye Sivan
The South African born-Australian singer-songwriter was already acting in movies before millions of fans fell in love with his music on YouTube. He released Wild, his fourth EP and a taste of his forthcoming Blue Neighborhood full-length, and it debuted at No. 5 in the U.S. As you can see for yourself above, he's also just plain adorable.
Jenna Marbles
This comedian-actress is another YouTube vet, with the seventh-most subscribed channel on YouTube. Her popularity is well earned, as she's been in the game since 2010, making her a pioneer of the genre.
Bethany Mota

The enormously-popular lifestyle blogger boasts 9.5 million YouTube subscribers — so if you're into haul videos, we don't need to tell you who she is. The 20-year-old also has her own fashion line at Aeropostale.

 

Joey Graceffa

Joey was on 'The Amazing Race 22' back in 2013 and has kept people absorbed in his videos since then. A budding actor, he's starred in his own short films and also released a memoir, In Real Life: My Journey to a Pixelated World, this year after coming out as gay.
