The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards performers are more than a worthy bunch, with huge stars like Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, One Direction, Rihanna and Pink lined up for the show's live entertainment. Out of the eight performers on the bill, who are you most excited to see perform on Thursday, Sept. 6, at the 2012 MTV VMAs?

Demi Lovato, who is also nominated for Best Video With a Message for 'Skyscraper,' will be belting out songs during the VMA pre-show from 7-8PM. We're guessing she'll either perform 'Skyscraper' or 'Give Your Heart a Break,' but we're definitely rooting for the latter since it's much more of an upbeat tune.

Taylor Swift and Alicia Keys will also grace the stage at the VMAs, held in L.A. this year; and the very different but equally as popular singer-songwriters will be debuting new songs at the Staples Center. Swift, who has already proven her new record will be a hit with 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,' will be performing a previously unheard song off of her forthcoming album 'Red,' and we can't wait to see what she's got in store (remember when she performed 'You Belong With Me' on the SUBWAY?!). Meanwhile, prodigious pianist Keys will also perform a song off of her upcoming album 'Girl on Fire.' She rarely disappoints singing live, and if the title of her album indicates anything, it's sure to be one of the hottest performances of the night.

One Direction are also performing, you guys! *SQUEAL* We are absolutely giddy awaiting the quintet's big debut at the 2012 MTV VMAs, where they're nominated for numerous awards, including Best New Artist. We wonder if they'll play 'What Makes You Beautiful,' 'One Thing' or their new song 'Live While We're Young,' which we've yet to hear. Maybe they'll do a medley, or maybe they'll pull a Taylor/Alicia and play their new track in its entirety?

Rihanna and Pink are also lined up to perform, with RiRi most likely entertaining with 'Where Have You Been' while Pink will surely play her latest smash 'Blow Me (One Last Kiss).' Rihanna, who is leading the nomination pack along with Drake, has disappointed in the past, but we're really hoping she pulls out all the stops and gives us a mind-blowing show a la her 'Disturbia' performance at the 2008 MTV VMAs. Pink, however, has never disappointed us... like ever. She's done everything from explosions to sky-high acrobatics during her live shows, and we cannot freakin' wait to see what the feisty mama's got in store for this year.

Lastly, Green Day and Frank Ocean are providing the alternative entertainment for the evening. Green Day have been teasing that they'll be performing their new song 'Oh Love' by way of VMA promos, and since these guys never really lack energy or pizazz, it's sure to be a good one. R&B newcomer and charts dominator Frank Ocean will play a 'Channel Orange' track -- maybe 'Pyramid'? But we're really hoping for some 'Sweet Life' in there too!
