Forbes Magazine is confirming what we already knew: Adele, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift are among the 30 Brightest Music Stars Under 30.

One Direction, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars also make the cut. None of those selections are a surprise, given their huge commercial success. The list covers a wide range of genres beyond pop music, including EDM stars Avicii and Skrillex, rapper Wiz Khalifa, and R&B singer Frank Ocean.

Unlike most of Forbes' lists, this one isn't based strictly on the amount of income earned. It's a subjective tally of who Forbes editors believe are the biggest stars today, with a few of tomorrow's up-and-coming stars tossed in. That's why newcomers like Skylar Grey and Kendrick Lamar are included alongside multiplatinum acts like Katy Perry and Rihanna. Forbes says Lamar is "set for stardom" and predicts big things for Grey's 2013 debut album.

The magazine also includes several executives for music applications and companies, including founders of Spotify, Crowdsurge and Rap Genius.
