Ariana Grande's the subject of a new Billboard cover story just ahead of her third studio album, Dangerous Woman, releasing on May 20. In it, the be-ponytailed pop star discusses a turbulent year in which she came out on top, and with a healthy dose of self-deprecation describes her new release as follows: "A 22-year-old girl comes into her own trying to balance growing up, love and a lot of other bullsh---t along the way. And she has a black latex Super Bunny within!"

The profile opens with a visit to Ariana's Beverly Hills home, and notes that — as anyone following Ari on Snapchat has likely observed while they watch her many dogs walk around the house — the place is near-empty and "lacks any kind of decor — unless you count the picture frames leaning against a nearby wall, their corners still wrapped in cardboard." It's an apt visual representation of the fact that Ariana's barely slowed her momentum in the first half of 2016.

So, what Ariana tidbits do we learn? In addition to her previously demonstrated celebrity impressions, her repertoire extends to include a screeching velociraptor and "a perfectly mealy-mouthed impression of rapper Future," who appears on album track "Everyday." The piece also gets to the bottom of the whole shiny latex bunny ears thing — aka Ari's new album cycle prop which profile writer Chris Martins accurately describes as looking like "it was designed for American Horror Story by the cartoonists at Warner Bros."

"[The Super Bunny] is my superhero, or supervillain -- whatever I’m feeling on the day," Grande explains. "Whenever I doubt myself or question choices I know in my gut are right -- because other people are telling me other things -- I’m like, ‘What would that bad bitch Super Bunny do?’ She helps me call the shots." So Super Bunny is basically Ariana's Sasha Fierce, though the perennial Harry Potter fan refers to it as her "patronus."

The piece also explores Ariana's expressions of feminism, which Martins calls "a bit on the nose" (strongly disagree, but okay). She evidently proves her bona fides when discussing a string of sexist tweets from a radio station, which she saved to her phone because they bugged her so much — two praise Justin Bieber and Zayn for their shirtless, while two shame Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian for theirs.

"If you’re going to rave about how sexy a male artist looks with his shirt off," Grande rightly points out, "and a woman decides to get in her panties or show her boobies for a photo shoot, she needs to be treated with the same awe and admiration. I will say it until I’m an old-ass lady with my tits out at Whole Foods. I’ll be in the produce aisle, naked at 95, with a sensible ponytail, one strand of hair left on my head and a Chanel bow. Mark my words. See you there with my 95 dogs." What's that noise? Oh right, it's me applauding.

For more on making Dangerous Woman, Ariana's rumored 'diva' status and her open-secret relationship with backup dancer Ricky Alvarez ("We’re happy. I’m a very happy girl. I have a healthy life right now, and I think that’s all anyone cares to know. The end"), head over to Billboard for the full feature.
