BLACKPINK is about to be back in your areaaaaaa.

The Gaon Award-winning "Whistle" troupe hasn't released anything since last year's Square One and Square Two, but the fast-rising foursome is now officially plotting their 2017 return.

In an update from their agency, a YG Entertainment source confirmed that BLACKPINK will start performing at college festivals in Seoul beginning in May, "a decision made in part to begin promotions for their spring comeback," reports Soompi.

"While YG Entertainment previously had the group focus on preparing new music, they’ve decided to give back to fans by attending local universities by agreeing to have the girls perform."

There's still no confirmed release date for BLACKPINK's new music just yet, but with promotional performances lined up for May, it seems the wait for the "Boombayah" beauties to return to the K-pop scene is nearly over. (Praise the YG.)

In the meantime, let's remind ourselves of the forthcoming BLACKPINK reign.
