Francesco Yates may not be a name you’re familiar with now, but just give it some time. He's well on his way to becoming a star, beginning with his new single 'Call.'

The 18-year-old is making his official debut on the music scene with the new track. And if his cute curly hair doesn’t win you over, his talent certainly will. The Canadian singer has a set of soulful pipes!

His smooth voice and sound straddle the border between pop and soul, and that mix of genres can be found in his latest tune, co-written with Matt Morris. The lyrics are especially impressive, sounding wise beyond his 18 years. (Maybe that's Matt's influence.)

Francesco sings, “Well it’s cold, it’s cold, it’s cold here next to you / And you’re close enough to hold me, but not to tell the truth, babe / I should’ve seen this coming from a long way ahead / There’s an opening inside you, but you won’t let me in.”

The young songwriter is making waves even among big names like Justin Timberlake and Pharrell. The ‘Happy’ singer commented in a statement, “He’s absolutely gonna be just a huge, huge, huge pop star, but not in the way people have been thinking of pop music in the past 10 years.” (Francesco, a multi-instrumentalist, played guitar on Pharrell’s ‘G I R L’ album. You can catch his talent on the track ‘Gust of Wind.’)

Justin went so far as to name ‘Call’ the “Summer Jam of 2014.” Pretty high honors, coming from such a big star!
