The happy couple grace the front cover of PEOPLE's upcoming issue, both bride and groom looking more in love than ever as they lean in to each other intimately, Clooney's hand on Alamuddin's waist (and that jaw-dropping dress).

As for details about their Sept. 27 nuptials in Italy, well, first, let's talk the wedding attire.

The bride, a highly respected British lawyer, donned a stunning Oscar de la Renta French lace gown, PEOPLE reports. The off-the-shoulder dress was embellished with pearls and "diamente accents" and looked absolutely breath-taking on Alamuddin. (Seriously, see for yourself in the photo above.) And of course, Clooney was not to be outdone, wearing a custom-made Giorgio Armani suit created by Armani himself.

And as for the reception and ceremony, guests revealed to the magazine that the night was everything they could have imagined and more.

"George and Amal radiated love all night," Alamuddin's mother gushed. "The wedding was so unbelievably special, it was legendary. These three days – the friends, the families, the atmosphere, everything – will stay with me all the rest of my life."
