Hailee Steinfeld is one of the newest Barden Bellas in Pitch Perfect 2. And while she's the new kid on the block, Hailee proves that she's got the chops to be a part of the team, especially in her recent performance of Jessie J's "Flashlight."

Posting the video on Twitter yesterday (May 15), a casually dressed Hailee stands at the mic with headphones on in a dimly lit studio while Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz is sitting on a stool next to her playing guitar. Unlike Jessie J's powerful delivery of the ballad, Hailee, who's character penned the song in the film, has a softer and more delicate approach to the acoustic version of the song. However, her inflections on certain lyrics and the way her voice vibrates through parts of the track adds her own personal touch to it.

"I got what I need when I'm with you and I / I look around me and see a sweet life / I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight / You're getting me, getting me through the night / Kick start my heart when you shot it in my eyes / I can't lie it's a sweet life / I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight / You're getting me, getting me through the night," she sings on the chorus.

Although Hailee exercises her vocal chords in a big way in Pitch Perfect 2, this isn't the first time she's been involved in a musical film. The 18-year-old actress played Mark Ruffalo's daughter and Kiera Knightley's guitarist, Violet Mulligan, in the 2013 movie, Begin Again. While she didn't really sing on the film, she showed her skills on the electric guitar and has a great solo on "Tell Me If You Wanna Go Home (Rooftop Mix)."

While there's no word yet on Hailee going the music route outside of movies, she did appear in The Cab's "Endlessly" video and will also be in Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" visual, which premieres tomorrow (May 17).

Pitch Perfect 2 is out in theaters now.
