Offset Apologizes For Crashing Cardi B’s Set in an Effort To Win Her Back
Offset is apologizing after he crashed estranged wife Cardi B's Rolling Loud Festival performance in an effort to win her back.
The Migos rapper took to Twitter to share his hopes for the stunt, which fans were unimpressed by. He claimed he was just "trying" to show Cardi, 26, how much he cares.
"All of my wrongs have been made public, I figure it's only right that my apologies are made public too," he tweeted. "A n---- was just trying...thank god I ain't got no balloons sheeesh."
As previously reported, the 27-year-old walked on stage during Cardi's set in Los Angeles on Saturday carrying a bunch of flowers after a huge Venus Et Fleur floral display spelling out "TAKE ME BACK CARDI" was rolled out. According to Us Weekly, the arrangement cost more than $15,000 and featured roughly 2,000 of Cardi's favorite flowers.
Audience members looked on in shock as Offset told Cardi over the microphone, "I'm sorry" and "I love you." Cardi wasn't moved by the stunt, shaking her head throughout. Fans were equally annoyed, later sharing video from the incident on Twitter.
Offset and his bold declaration were removed from the stage, but the incident's impact could not be undone. Fans slammed Offset and Rolling Loud organizers, who appeared to have been in on the whole thing. In a series of deleted tweets the festival promoted the stunt. The "Bodak Yellow" rapper later took to Instagram to ask fans to go easy on her estranged husband, calling him "family."
As for festival organizers, they claim Cardi was aware of what Offset had planned. Tariq Cherif told Us Weekly in a statement, "Headliners and their teams have full control of the stage and who is allowed on it during their set at Rolling Loud."
Cherif continued, "The festival does not interfere with or influence a headliner's set list. We have never and will never do anything to change a headliner's set. We were tipped off that something was going to happen, but had nothing to do with the organization or execution of it. Rolling Loud is proud to provide the platform for a queen like Cardi B to absolutely slay her performance. Despite the stunt, she performed hit after hit and electrified the crowd with her talent, energy, choreography, and set design. Cardi B proved herself as a top tier headliner last night, and that should be the story. We look forward to continued business with her in the future."
Cardi and Offset announced their split earlier this month. It's believed to have been caused by Offset's infidelity, which led to complications in their relationship.
