Taylor Swift Gives Earth, Wind & Fire’s Disco Classic ‘September’ a Country Twist
Taylor Swift is giving disco a go—sorta—with a surprising new cover of Earth, Wind & Fire's "September."
Aided by the gentle strum of a banjo, Swift and her ethereal Southern twang put a much different, softer spin on the beloved dance track.
Recorded at The Tracking Room in Nashville, Tennessee, Swift paints the 1978 disco classic a decidedly country hue on the new rework, recorded exclusively as part of her new Spotify Singles series.
As part of the series—which has previously hosted other pop stars, including Miley Cyrus, who covered Tom Petty’s “Wildflowers,” and Demi Lovato, who covered Aretha Franklin’s “Ain’t No Way"—Swift also released an acoustic version of her latest Reputation single, "Delicate."

Swift's Reputation Stadium Tour, featuring Camila Cabello and Charli XCX, kicks off May 8 in Glendale, Arizona.
