The subject of Taylor Swift's new single 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' has yet to be revealed, but in a new promo for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, host Kevin Hart insists it's about him.

The clip begins with the 22-year-old country star strumming an acoustic guitar and singing her new single. Hart bursts through the door and starts going off about how Swift needs to stop writing songs about him. She denies that he inspired the hit tune, but Hart continues.

"I'm hosting the VMAs!" he pleads. "It's a big night for me. I'm not trying to go up there and be known as Mr. Ex Taylor Swift." The singer looks at the comedian blankly and replies, “I met you like one time two years ago. For like, five minutes."

Hart then presents a doctored photo as evidence of their relationship. "That’s your face Photoshopped on someone else’s body,” Swift reasons. By the way, that "someone else" is the pop star's ex, Jake Gyllenhaal.

Swift is scheduled to perform a new song from her forthcoming album 'Red' at the big event, while Green Day, One Direction, Alicia Keys and Pink will also take the stage. The 2012 MTV VMAs will air on Thursday, Sept. 6.
