Taylor Swift’s First-Week ‘Reputation’ Sales Are Clinically Insane
Can't beat this word of mouth: Taylor Swift's Reputation, her sixth studio album, has already outsold every other 2017 LP...in less than a week.
According to Billboard, Swift's new project sold 1.05 million copies in the United States in just four days, and is the first album to sell more than a million since Adele's 25 dropped in 2015. More, it's on track to become her biggest sales week ever — her 2014 project 1989, currently her most successful, managed to sell 1.29 million in its first week.
Reputation is Swift's fourth album to sell more than a million copies in its first week: 1989 sold 1.29 million in 2014, Red sold 1.21 million in 2012 and Speak Now sold 1.05 million in 2010. Swift is now the only artist to have notched four million-selling weeks.
The second-place finisher for 2017 will likely be Ed Sheeran's Divide, which has sold 919,000 copies as of November 9.
