Taylor Swift Gives Debut Performance of ‘False God’ on ‘Saturday Night Live’
Taylor Swift acted as the musical guest on the October 6 episode of Saturday Night Live. Swift performed two of the new songs off of her seventh studio album, Lover, with unforgettable renditions that left Swifties wanting more.
Prior to the Saturday episode, fans camped outside Rockefeller Plaza two days prior to the airing. Swift, in turn, sent the fans waiting outside the studio, pizzas on Friday night.
Swift first took the stage and performed the title track, "Lover," with her grand piano at her fingertips. The ballad had a unique tone that was a far cry from her recorded version. Swift also performed in all green with a green backdrop and piano, a nod to the "Lover" music video where she had rooms with different color themes for each room, representing her seven albums and their themes.
The "You Need To Calm Down" singer then returned to the stage with a full band and a saxophone player at hand to give the world premiere performance of her fan-favorite track, "False God." The songstress was surrounded by light stands and donned a black off the shoulder jacket for the sultry track.
