The final three contestants performed three songs each on tonight's 'American Idol' semi-finals. They got to choose one, famed record producer Jimmy Iovine picked one and so did the show's producers. Rock, pop and country music hits were all featured. Everybody did well, here's the details:

Lauren Alaina: 'Wild One' by Faith Hill was Lauren's first song. Episode mentor Beyonce said she likes it when Alaina lets go and has fun, so do the judges. Jimmy Iovine then chose 'If I Die Young' by the Band Perry so Alaina could give us a taste of her softer side.

She gave a good performance and emotionally connected to the song -- in a solid, if imperfect, rendition. Jennifer Lopez was particularly sold after she tackled 'I Hope You Dance' in her signature, pretty way for her third song.

Scotty McCreery: He was money and on point, nailing 'Amazed' with his vibrato. It was vintage Scotty, and yes, we can now say that this talented teenager has "vintage" moments. Jimmy Iovine chose 'Are You Going to Kiss Me or Not' by Thompson Square, saying he thought the lyrics suit McCreery.

Scotty strummed his guitar, assumed an Elvis Presley stance, worked his eyes (and eyebrows) and got compared to Garth Brooks. Both Lopez and Jackson decided round two went to McCreery. His third song was Kenny Rogers' 'She Believes in Me,' which finally gave him the chance to hit a big chorus out of the park.

Haley Reinhart: 'What Is and What Should Never Be' is a classic rock staple, and thanks to Haley's bluesy, sultry version of the Led Zeppelin song, the judges unanimously said the first round went to her. Iovine chose 'Rhiannon' by Fleetwood Mac, which allowed Reinhart to once again show off her hippie chick side.

The producers get bonus points for having electric fans blow through her hair and dress, upping the ethereal, Nicksian effect of the performance. Unfortunately, she forgot the lyrics to her third song, 'You Oughta Know' by Alanis Morissette; but her soulful, sultry Haley thing remained intact.
