Chrissy Teigen Roasts Donald Trump’s Claim That ‘A-List’ Stars Want Inauguration Tickets
While Celine Dion has reportedly joined the growing list of music artists turning down a performance slot at the January 20 presidential inauguration, and his celebrity supporters on the campaign trail included such cultural luminaries as Dean Cain and Dennis Rodman, president elect Donald Trump would have his supporters believe he's shutting the big names out of his inauguration festivities, and not the other way around. Model, TV host, cookbook author and wife of singer John Legend Chrissy Teigen is not buying the Donald's "well, you're not invited to my party ANYWAY!" claim.
"The so-called 'A' list celebrities are all wanting tixs to the inauguration, but look what they did for Hillary, NOTHING. I want the PEOPLE!," Trump tweeted on December 22.
Quoting Trump's tweet, Teigen wrote, "Hi - we are people. You are our president too. I don't want you to be, but u are. Also we ALL know you are dying without the approval, dear."
But the Lip Sync Battle commentator wasn't done. Alluding to his team's inability thus far to lock down any big names for the inauguration she wrote, "But have fun with DJ Buttcrack spinning the hot sh--- and Lil Banana dropping bars at your inauguration."
(Teigen may have been referring to the upcoming All-American Ball, which will feature people named DJ Freedom and The Mixx in addition to an '80s cover band called The Reagan Years).
While past inaugurations have included both celebrities and the people (it's a public event, and those who can't wrangle the typically in-demand free tickets can watch in multiple viewing areas), Trump — whose Twitter history dating back to NBC's The Apprentice reflects a long history of preoccupation with approval from Hollywood and his famous peers, not to mention a long series of strong opinions on the Kristen Stewart-Robert Pattinson cheating scandal in 2012 — has changed his story. Or Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway suggested the change. He's waited longer than any president elect since 1976 to hold a press conference, so who knows what goes on!
Does this mean Trump's "friend for a long time" Kanye West isn't invited, either?
