Kanye West is taking a social media break: On Friday, May 5, the rapper deleted his social media accounts, just days after skipping out on the Met Gala.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, a source told the publication, "He’s focusing on getting back into the public spotlight really slow. That’s the main reason why he didn’t want to go to the Met Ball. He’s still very close friends with Anna and loves her dearly, but right now it’s all about him and staying healthy."

In 2016, West suffered a mental breakdown and was hospitalized after exhibiting "erratic behavior."
