‘Orange Is the New Black’ Actress Lea DeLaria Is Engaged

Congratulations are in order for Lea DeLaria! The actress, known for her role as Big Boo on the hit Netflix series 'Orange Is the New Black,' is now engaged to her girlfriend of two-and-a-half years, fashion editor Chelsea Fairless.

Lea posted the announcement via Facebook earlier today (Feb. 6). She posted a photoshopped image of her and Chelsea with Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor and wrote the following, "Despite their concerns about the patriarchal confines of marriage, actor/singer Lea DeLaria & editrix [sic] Chelsea Fairless of Brooklyn, New York, are pleased to announce their engagement. No date has been set for the impending nuptials but it's safe to say that it will be the event of the season, or a total s--- show."

According to E! News, Lea popped the question to Chelsea back in January after the Screen Actors Guild Awards, where 'Orange Is the New Black' won outstanding performance by an ensemble. Lea said, "Everyone saw how emotional I was at the SAG awards. I was so filled with love. I turned to her at the Netflix party that night and asked her to marry me. We announced it to all of our friends there."
