During Sunday (March 4) night's Academy Awards ceremony, Robert Lopez made history. The songwriter and his wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez took home the Oscar for best original song for “Remember Me” from the animated film Coco (which also won best animated feature). The award marked Lopez's second EGOT.

So what does that mean? It means Lopez has now won at least two coveted awards from each of the fields of television (Emmy), music (Grammy), film (Oscar) and theater (Tony). And he is the first person ever to achieve that feat.

Mel Brooks, Whoopi Goldberg and the late John Gielgud are among the 12 who have gotten one EGOT, but no one has ever done it twice, until now.

In 2014, Lopez was the youngest person to EGOT at the age of 39, when he and Anderson-Lopez won a Grammy for Frozen's hit song, "Let It Go." It took him just under 10 years to achieve, which also set a record. His award case now includes two Emmys, three Tonys, three Grammys and two Oscars, and at age 43 it's safe to say the songwriter will be collecting even more lauded awards in years to come. He's only an Emmy and an Oscar away from triple EGOT-ing, after all.
