Joe Jonas and his brothers Kevin and Nick rose to fame in 2005 when Columbia Records signed the young Jonases as a pop-rock group act simply dubbed the Jonas Brothers. The band of brothers dropped their debut album, It’s About Time, in 2006, but it was their 2007 sophomore self-titled effort that helped solidify them as teenage heartthrobs. The brothers quickly became known not just for their infectious pop music, but also for proudly wearing purity rings. The Jonas Brothers eventually crossed over into television, appearing in a number of Disney Channel original TV series and movies. All three brothers appeared in Disney’s Camp Rock and its sequel, but it was Joe who took the lead as a fictionalized version of himself. In 2008, Joe began a relationship with country-pop star Taylor Swift until a very public breakup, which is rumored to have inspired a number of Swift’s songs. The Jonas Brothers dropped their fourth album, Lines, Vines, and Trying Times, in 2009. Since then, the brothers have been on an indefinite hiatus as a band while they explore their individual careers. Joe did just that in 2011 when he dropped his debut solo album, Fastlife.
