Krewella will be unable to perform at India's Sunburn Festival after the musicians' visas were reportedly denied due to their Pakistani background.

The EDM duo, comprised of Pakistani-American sisters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf, posted an emotionally-charged handwritten letter to Twitter on Monday (December 26), in which they explained their predicament.

"It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that due to our Pakistani heritage, our visas have been repeatedly denied and we will not be able to enter your country for Sunburn Festival," the Yousaf sisters wrote to their fans in India.

"Our team tried every avenue possible but now have reached the end," they added. "We are so heartbroken since we were looking forward to being reunited with our Desi Krew. We hope the state of affairs between the two countries can be resolved someday soon."

The pair, who previously played in India in 2014, were scheduled to perform on December 29 in Pune.
