Taylor Swift has been there for Selena Gomez through thick and thin.

The singer is a "constant source of comfort" for Gomez, 26, after she left treatment in December, according to a report from ET Online. Gomez entered treatment after she was hospitalized in October, and is in a "good place" now.

"Selena is in a really good place. She's taking time for herself and reconnecting with friends and important people in her life," a source told the outlet. "Taylor has always been a constant source of comfort for Selena, and aside from having a great friendship, the two are able to connect on a level that most will never understand."

Swift, 29, recently reconnected with Gomez, sharing a photo together on Instagram. The pair have been friends since 2008, getting close while taking Joe and Nick Jonas respectively in 2008. They're careers have taken them all over the world, but they remain close friends.

"They are two of the most famous people in the world and deal with things normal people don't have to think about," the insider added. "At the end of the day the most important thing for Selena is to be happy."

Gomez was reportedly hospitalized amid frustration over health issues related to her Lupus. As a result of her diagnosis, the actress had to undergo a kidney transplant, which was difficult for her. Eventually she sought treatment for her suffering mental health.

"It's very hard for Selena because she loves to work and stay busy," the source claimed. "Unfortunately, the amount of time spent at the hospital, without much improvement created anxiety for Selena, and made her extremely emotional, causing her to have panic attacks."

Gomez and Swift have been somewhat quiet about their friendship, but the Spring Breakers star's mother previously told ET she loved the bond they share.

"What I love about that friendship is it's so solid, and with Taylor, I feel like they can tell each other anything, and it will be an honest, in-your-best-interest kind of relationship," Mandy Teefey said. "It's not about anything else, and it's one your don't just find out there."
